Aurora/Naperville, Channahon and South Barrington student Sean Farney joined Carlson Gracie to train for an upcoming amateur charity boxing match.  Under the expert tutelage of CG’s boxing coaches, he’s transformed his fitness level and fighting skills.  “Boxing for the first time at 47 years old, I needed experienced instructors with real credentials who could train me effectively and safely” says Farney.  “With continual input from Jeff, Bill, and Hulices, and and a lot of sweat equity-  I’m prepared to win!”  He initially considered this foray into boxing to be a short-term endeavor.  But after experiencing the sport’s physical and mental benefits, along with the camaraderie of training with the world renowned Carlson Gracie team, Sean has decided to make the training a part of his regular routine.

His charity fight takes place on May 19th at Park West, 6-9pm.  Proceeds will go to Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Chicago.  Carlson Gracie’s Jeff Neal and Bill O’Connell will be cornering for Sean at the event.  Information and tickets can be found at http://www.chicagorealestaterumble.com/event/
